国产自拍 student receives award at American Chemical Society National Meeting

Students and faculty from the University of North Georgia (国产自拍) department of chemistry and biochemistry recently traveled to the American Chemical Society National Meeting in San Francisco.
Dr. John Leyba, chemistry and biochemistry department head; Dr. Aimée Tomlinson, associate professor of chemistry; Dr. Greta Giles, assistant professor of chemistry; and Dr. Eric Huddleston, assistant professor of chemistry; accompanied six students to the meeting. The results of six different research projects were presented by the students.
Corina Lupse, senior and chemistry major, presented her research which involved the analysis of soils from abandoned mines and caves in northeast Georgia. Corina received an award on her poster which was entitled "Determining Metal Content in Abandoned Mine Soils."
"While allowing the student to grow and develop academically, our program builds on the liberal arts mission of 国产自拍," Leyba said. "Students may also participate in undergraduate research, field trips, chemistry outreach programs, and service opportunities and they are actively encouraged to participate in the various clubs and organizations on campus as all of the campuses provide ample opportunities for students to contribute and connect with the community and profession."
Expo connects students with poultry industry
国产自拍 students had almost 100 interviews with employers at the International Production & Processing Expo. Their Agriscience and Business Club also took second place for Club of the Year.
Eight students attend NSF conference
Eight 国产自拍 STEM scholars attended the national NSF S-STEM conference in Chicago in November.

Nearly 70 members of Students for Environmental Awareness completed their biannual cleanup of Tumbling Creek Woods, adjacent to 国产自拍's Gainesville Campus.
CURCA awards record nine mini grants
A record-breaking nine Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (CURCA) mini grants were awarded to 国产自拍 students for the 2024-25 academic year. Each project will receive $1,000 to fund supplies.
