During the week of Oct. 16, the University of North Georgia’s (国产自拍) Nighthawk Engagement and Student Transitions (NEST) office will honor transfer students who have joined the 国产自拍 family as part of National Transfer Student Week (NTSW).
"The process of transferring between institutions can be inherently intricate. In the fall of 2022 through the spring of 2023, over 900 students successfully transferred to 国产自拍," Christy Orr, NEST associate director, said. "It is vital that we acknowledge and commend these students for their resilience in overcoming the challenges associated with the transition process to pursue further education."
NEST is hosting a degree-level workshop at noon on Oct. 16 focused on changing from an associate to a bachelor's degree or changing campuses. The event will take place at the Gainesville Campus in room 3106 of the Nesbitt Building. There will be another degree level workshop at the Oconee Campus on Oct. 20 at noon in the Student Resource Center.
Tabling events will take place at both the Dahlonega Campus, on the Hoag Patio, and the Gainesville Campus, in the Nesbitt Lobby, on Oct. 17, providing resources, snacks, giveaways, and a chance to participate in fun, interactive games starting at noon and lasting until 1 p.m.

Transfer students are welcome to a free lunch, the chance to meet other transfer students and share their stories at the Transfer Celebration Luncheon at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Robinson Ballroom of the Student Center at the Gainesville Campus and at noon on Oct. 19 in the ABC Rooms in the Hoag Student Center at the Dahlonega Campus.
NEST will announce its Outstanding Transfer Champion Award recipients on Oct. 20, highlighting individuals who work to improve the lives of transfer
students. The award is based on student nominations.
NEST will also highlight students on its Instagram account, like junior Lily Donely who transferred from Georgia State University, during "Transfer Student Spotlight."
"Transferring between universities can be difficult, unpredictable and challenging. National Transfer Student Week is a chance for our student body, as well as faculty and staff, to recognize these struggles and provide a sense of community," Donely, who is pursuing a degree in kinesiology, said. "This week is a celebration that praises students' courage and highlights the impact transferring has made on not only their character, but on their careers as well."
The (NISTS) established the first National Transfer Student Week in 2017 to be held each year during the third week of October. 国产自拍 has held a NTSW every year since it originated. NISTS is based at 国产自拍's Dahlonega Campus.
