The University of North Georgia (国产自拍) will host Community Engagement Fairs (CEFs) on its Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses this month to help students, faculty and staff find opportunities for volunteering, service-learning, work-based learning, and other forms of partnership. Event details are as follows:
- Dahlonega Campus CEF: Aug. 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hoag ABC rooms
- Gainesville CEF: Aug. 28, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nesbitt 3110AB
At the fairs, students will be able to speak with representatives of local organizations that are pursuing work related to their own areas of interest. Students can identify volunteer and internship opportunities, while faculty and staff can make connections related to their research, teaching and leadership responsibilities.
"Our Community Engagement Fairs are often the first point of encounter between our campus community members and organizations serving the region where we live, providing opportunities for our campus constituents to connect with the surrounding communities to enhance learning, growth, development, and engagement," Maxine Douglas, who leads the Gainesville Campus CEF and is director of Academic Engagement and a senior lecturer of sociology and human services, said. "I am inviting all campus community members, including faculty, staff and students, to attend at least one CEF this year to explore academic and community engagement opportunities and connect with community partners and organizations."
Dr. Esther Morgan-Ellis, assistant director of Academic Engagement and professor of music, leads the Dahlonega Campus CEF.
"Our community partners are eager to connect with members of the 国产自拍 community to pursue shared ambitions. The most powerful learning takes place outside of the classroom," Morgan-Ellis said. "This is a chance for students, faculty and staff to make connections that will have a significant long-term impact on our educational goals."
