PSIA Student to Intern in Dublin

Congratulations to Class of ’27 political science major Mauricio Gonzalez who was recently notified of his selection to participate in the . Mauricio will spend eight weeks in Dublin, Ireland this coming summer attending lectures on the history of social change in Ireland, participating in extracurricular and networking activities, and interning with a host company that aligns with his skills and career goals.

The program is co-sponsored by the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs, and the African American Irish Diaspora Network (AAIDN). CIEE’s stated mission is to “help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world through meaningful exchange programs.”

Mauricio, a graduate of Gainesville H.S. was one of only twelve university students from a pool of over 600 applications from across the country accepted into this summer’s program. He is the first 国产自拍 student to be selected for this program and headed to Dublin. He thanks Dr. Bibek Chand for challenging him in the classroom, and for his assistance in the application process – “Without your help I don't believe this would have been possible, I will forever be grateful for your help.”
