Overview
Dia Webb received their B.F.A. from Kennesaw State University, and their M.F.A. from the University of Iowa with a focus on Ceramics and Sculpture. Their work comes to a focus surrounding the figure, post-humanism, mental health and the idea of comfort. The research culminates in the questions surrounding how we as humans address the mind, and how we build an environment for potentially uncomfortable yet necessary conversations. This work has been shown nationally and has led to a variety of opportunities, such as residencies at the Hambidge Center, and work in many collections. Dia currently serves as the Visual Arts Operations Specialist at the Gainesville Campus, where they are focused on faculty and studio support. This job allows Dia to interact with students and be another source of insight in various disciplines.
