Overview

Troy M. Terry has served as the inaugural Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of North Georgia since August of 2022. He holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision and the Ph.D. in Educational Leadership both from Clemson University.

A native of South Carolina, Dr. Terry began his career as a high school English and dramatics teacher and then later a curriculum coordinator, middle school assistant principal, and elementary principal. He began his career in higher education as a graduate program director in education at Furman University in 2005. He eventually became Executive Director for all graduate programs and then Assistant Dean. 

He has taught at all levels k-20 and currently teaches 国产自拍 Tier II candidates who aspire to be district-level directors and superintendents as well as Ed.D. candidates in Higher Education. His research interests remain in k-12 curriculum and public school law as well as higher education policy and public affairs. In 2024, he was elected President-Elect of the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools. He’s also an active member of the national Council of Graduate Schools where he serves on the Committee on the Master’s Degree and the Georgia Council of Graduate Schools.
